Training Centre

Mandatory Health & Social Care Training.

RCS undertakes the new Mandatory Health & Social Care Training in-house. The new standards now map across to all eight mandatory units of the new Health and Social Care Diploma to ensure there is consistency of approach for the workforce.

Each standard contains a number of key areas of knowledge that care workers need to know before they can work unsupervised. RCS Managers have a duty to ensure all new staff know enough to meet the required outcomes in each knowledge area.  When carried out in depth, these modules can also provide excellent evidence of underpinning knowledge towards the award of an NVQ diploma at level 2 or level 3.

Common Induction Course

RCS understand fully that for most Service Users the most important people in the care industry are the care and support workers with whom Service Users have regular contact. We take great care in training and supervising all care staff. All caring staff members are inducted using the“refreshed” (2010) Skills for Care Common Induction Standards, which are as follows:

  • Standard 1 Role of the health and social care worker
  • Standard 2 Personal development
  • Standard 3 Communicate effectively
  • Standard 4 Equality and Inclusion
